This sculpture is inspired by Salvador Dali’s Persistence of Memory and an appropriation of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night. By replicating the melting clocks in his painting, I created a similar structure but a melting frame instead. Framing artworks is a tradition which makes a piece of fine art completed. The melting and cracking structure creates a decayed and deformed shape of the originally rigid and sharp form of a frame, which further breaks through the formal quality of art.
